UK Borders protected by Paramount
Security Group If you are coming to the UK
as a visitor, you are allowed to stay here for up to 6 months
in most cases. If you want to stay here for longer than 6 months, you may
require a visa. To be allowed to enter or
pass through the UK, you must meet certain requirements. The UK Border agency
ensures that all vehicles and pedestrians entering the UK meet these
requirements, and prevent the entry of unauthorized people, goods or
vehicles. Paramount Security Group based
in Stoke on Trent, have joined forces with the UK border agency in
protecting entry control points into the UK. The full scope of work has yet
to be completed; but already a large number of Paramount’s Standard traffic
barriers which have been supplied complete with access control have been
deployed at strategic locations. |

The choice of suitable equipment
was a crucial factor in specifying Paramount traffic barriers; the nature of
all UK border entry points requires a highly reliable solution. The chosen
solution must cope not only with large volumes of traffic but the ability to
operate in all weather conditions was also an essential factor. With over 25 years experience in
the automated gate and barrier industry, Paramount’s world renowned product
range has been selected by the client after they researched a number of
possible potential suppliers. An initial trial lasting for one
year, which included the installation of Access control on four lanes of
traffic proved to be a success. The specification for the Paramount traffic
barrier was then approved for use on a wider scale. When you return to the UK in
2012 from your summer vacation, you may well find yourself being managed by a
Paramount product, whilst having your passport or visa checked. |

The project is being managed by
Operations Manager Wayne Fitzsimmons, who commented “it’s nice to see UK
manufactured products being chosen for use at high profile locations”.
Imported access control equipment is difficult to compete with on a
commercial level due to lower costs of production on the continent. The
overall life time running costs of imported equipment are usually
significantly higher, in comparison to the Paramount UK manufactured product
range. |
