May 2006 has seen the completion of a first stage upgrade in the National Peak Park for the Peak Park service. Ongoing problems at their visitor centre near Sheffield and its associated car parks for the tourist trails had suffered from car crime, thefts of bikes from the cycle hire centre and general anti-social behaviour, have resulted in Paramount being specified to install a remotely monitored CCTV system. |

Paramount surveyed the site with the Peak Park service and local Police authority and designed a bespoke security solution to protect the assets and public. |

A number of fixed cameras were installed at strategic locations around the area along with a central monitoring room in the main visitor centre where the Ranger Service can monitor the cameras live as events unfold. |
|
Covert night vision illumination was also deployed to allow cameras to see in total darkness without the public being aware of the red glow or any visible light source being seen. |
