Paramount Security Group has recently completed a national security upgrade programme for a national critical infrastructure provider. A large number of sites required an upgrade programme of electronic and physical security detection and counter prevention measures.
The contract started in 2013 and is due for completion no later than December 2016. Paramount will be installing and commissioning perimeter systems, including electric security fencing manufactured by Gallagher, CCTV systems based on a fibre optic transmission system to provide full coverage of the sites perimeter fence lines, as well as buried detection systems and building based physical and electronic intruder solutions. Access control is being supplied to all doors and entrance gates around each site, with centralised control and management of the card database using a managed card access solution.
The specified solutions are all fully integrated and transmit signals from each site to two central control rooms based around the UK. Operators can handle alarm and video activations as well as providing access into the restricted sites where appropriate.
The project has so far seen the installation of over 1600 tower mounted cameras, installing both conventional and thermal imaging CCTV, and over 6400 white light and infrared lights which can be independently controlled. Our installation teams have installed over 80km of fibre and copper cabling, through buildings and service ducts in less than 18 months!
Working on site required our engineers to possess specialist skills and hold certification specific to the client’s requirements in order to fulfill the programme of installation work.
Personnel working on the project also had to undergo a rigorous and strict vetting process to ensure their suitability to provide security solutions on a sensitive project, prior to the contract commencing.
